Château Larrivet Haut Brion

Château Larrivet Haut Brion is located in Pessac-Léognan, about 15 kilometres south of the city of Bordeaux.
The property’s name reflects the numerous changes that have taken place over the course of the past two centuries. Cited in 1840 as Château de Canolle, then La Rivette, Brion-Larrivet, then Haut-Brion, it took its current name in 1949. In 1987 Christine and Philippe Gervoson brought it back to life repurchasing its original plots which were sold during the economic recession of the 1930s.
Since 1996, thanks to JM Arcaute and Michel Rolland’s support, it has seen a succession of fine vintages. The property has been managed by Bruno Lemoine, a passionate, challenge-taker who started his career in the great houses of Martell in Cognac, Château Lascombes and Château Montrose and is making wines that give the full expression of their terroir: Larrivet Haut-Brion’s vineyard is planted on clay soil consisting of sand and iron-rich clay. He oversees the Chateau’s  administration and its wine production, since 2007.
