TSIKRIKONIS VINEYARDS

Under Mount Symbolos at an altitude of 350 meters and just 3 kilometers from the Aegean Sea, lies the Tsikrikoni family vineyard. Its history dates back to the 1950s when the first vines were planted there. Its proximity to the sea and its altitude mean that the vines benefit from cooling breezes during the day and night giving wines that are highly aromatic and fresh. Theodoris Tsikrikonis took over the work in the wine cellar from his father Stathis in 2014 and was able to translate his inspirations from Bordeaux into substance and character in a very short time. He is the first vintner to have dared to bottle the indigenous grape variety Rosaki, which is despised by others as a table grape. He has produced a fantastically elegant and mineral wine from it. Of course, the super small yield from the 60-year-old vineyard has contributed its part.
